Echo Chamber Post Game Episode 49

DOWNLOAD THIS EPISODE BECAUSE IT IS A PERFECT SQUARE

-So, anyway, the awesome thing that resulted of two groups of friends coming together was this:

OK, so the week before we had to shoot, I was invited to a high school friend of mine, Elana's, birthday party, where she was making a movie. We haven't talked much since then, but it has been a while, and my friend David, who I worked on the Dino Hunter MD stuff with, was staying over that night.

Keep in mind, just as all of this was happening, people were dropping out of production, so he needed some actors and a makeup person. We went to her party, and made a movie. They, and a couple of the people we met still keep in touch so it didn't turn out too bad. Paul, for example, played Brady in Halloween Party and is working with David on his next project.

-Dear AnimeCow, is this the anime you were talking about? Here's something better than that:

-"A Hat In Time" is making me wish I had a better PC, because not only is it the same vein as Banjo-Kazooie, its music is done by Grant Kirkhope, who did the music for BK and Goldeneye 007.

-I was thinking about doing a series of dramatic readings of songs with fucked up lyrics and fanfictions called "Fancy Bastard"

-Here's the Anime Roommate Series on Something Awful.

-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH!!!

Status Quo Sunday Chops Your Head Off

AXE COP THE TV SHOW IS NOW OUT!

While the spoken into is OK, it looks like it needs a shot of vitamin R-B:

I'm really liking the TV show so far, and I think Nick Offerman really fits in with the kind of humor they're going for which is to play everything completely straight.

In album news, I'm officially on Act 2 of Status Quo Radio, and while there are a ton of rerecords and writing that I still have to do, it's not terribly far off. This week's track was a stripped down, acoustic version of Radio Days that I'll add the harmonica to later.

In other news, I saw The Wolverine. It was good up until it remembered "Shit, we have to be a comic book movie." You have all of these nice shots of Japan, the woods, all these really nice houses, and then the last 30 minutes takes place in some underground laboratory, where everything is cut so frantically I can hardly keep up. The best action takes place when it tried to be a samurai movie that just so happens to feature a dude with claws coming out of his hands.

Status Quo Sunday Fights The Kaiju

Saw Pacific Rim on Sunday. It's like Guiellromo Del Toro read my mind, found out whatever pisses me off about action movies, and said "Fuck that noise, and plus add in some Robots and Shark Monsters".

I liked Hellboy, and it's made me curious about the rest of GDT's work, but my main reason for seeing it was Charlie Day as a Scientist.

AND BACK TO THE PROGRAM!!!!

So, Studio One has officially gotten too unwieldy for me to cram everything into one file, so I've started breaking up the Studio One File into song sized chunks. I still have the main template to work from, so it's not like all is lost. I just have to learn how to master, that's all.

Now, since this was originally a TF2 concept album, I originally planned "Radio Days Pt. 1"
to be the Engineer's song, and be in three parts. HOWEVER, since the story I'm planning has taken things into a different direction, I've repurposed it, and it'll be included in the interlude that introduces the 2nd Act.

The new Radio Days will be more in line with Bob Dylan than country music, but as always I'm gonna be working my ass off on it!

NewGrounds Audio Death Match snubbed me for the 4th year in a row, BUT don't care because...

I got invited to play at Anime Festival Orlando’s inaugural Orlandia Music Festival GO! (OMFG!) on August 16-18th. Details are coming soon, but I will have to update the sideboard.

SO, if you want to help a brother out, and help build up my warchest so I can start selling physical merch, my album if for sale, and you CAN pay more than $0!

Echo Chamber Post Game Episode 47

GET YOUR ASS TO THIS EPISODE AS FAST AS PAOLO SHOULD GET TO A FIVE GUYS

-BTW, THPSHD was not as good as I hoped. But Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x was worth every penny, all 200 of them. It's amazing how the manual and strategy guide are selling for MORE than the game itself.

-Biotruths denounced here. Basically, some Men's Rights Activist type stuff to say "EVERYTHING'S PERFECT THE WAY IT IS GTFO MY MAJOR STUPID SMELLY GIRL WHO WILL LATER REJECT ME IN A BAR AND I'LL GET BUTTHURT ABOUT IT WITH ZERO IRONY.

-Gangnam Style a year old. Wow.

-Here's all the references to "seawolf". It seems to be the name you use when "Shark" is already taken and "Killer Whale" seems like an oxymoron. But the Stony Brook Seawolves says it was said to be a mythical creature from the Tlingit tribe which brought good luck to those able to see it. BUT YOU SHOULD SEE OUR BASKETBALL TEAM BECAUSE THAT IS CLEARLY NOT THE CASE.

Status Quo Sunday Gets Away With Murder

Congrats to George Zimmerman for setting a precendence where I can start a fight with someone, and then kill them if they retaliate. I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND!!!!

But this past weekend, I finished up another song for "Status Quo Radio", and submitted my audition for the NewGrounds Audio Death Match, "Cliffhanger".

Not a lot in the way of videos this weekend, but I am taking baby steps. supergreatfriend is letting me use the footage from his Let's Play of Deadly Premonition to use in the video, so that will be one of the projects for the coming week.

Echo Chamber Post Game Episode 46

MAKIN' MY WAY DOWNTOWN, WALKIN' FAST TO DOWNLOAD THIS EPISODE

-White Chicks IS a cinematic masterpiece, according to Twitter

THIS IS ON MY SEARCH HISTORY NOW, THERE IS NO GOD. SHIT LIKE THIS FENDS OFF THE HOMICIDAL THOUGHTS AND KEEPS THE SUICIDAL ONES FROM BEING HOMICIDAL ONES.

-North by Northwest is on my to see list after Caddyshack and A Fish Called Wanda:

This scene has been parodied so many times, but it's Hitchcock of all people, so go and check it out.

-Here's the Lewis Black joke I tried and failed to emulate:

-CORRECTION: Jack Thompson ran for State's Attorney, not District Attorney or Attorney General.

-The LA Times called Jack Thompson "The Batman Who Took On 2 Live Crew"
The LA Times called Jack Thompson "Batman". As a High Schooler when all this JT  Bizzy-nizzy went down, I totally remember when the dude would post of GamePolitics.com and be a 4-chan level asshole.

-
Sam Eagle takes songs at face value.

-Mystakin sucks dick for America

-Me and Mystakin REALLY got to work on our deadpan. This episode became kind of bitter, but seeing as this is the 2010's and stuff has gone pretty south, it's easy to be pessimistic about these kinds of things.

-Dolph Lundgren IS everything I hope to be.

Status Quo Sunday Gets Back To Work

Truer words were never spoken, Mr. Botte.

Which is why on my hard drive, there are two and a half video treatments (not all of them music mind you), and the basic rhythm section for Track 4 on Status Quo Radio, with Track 6 being written now, along with the second radio interlude.

However, tomorrow, I am starting a regular grown up job. Good news is, I won't die, bad news is, less time to do music, and even worse news, with family in the area, that's going to be a pain in the ass leaving me less time to work on stuff, but good news is I can move out in a few months so I can find a location where I can practice AND get to Friday Night Magic.

Also, tomorrow night around 8:30, I'm going to be streaming "Minimum Wage Games", or basically games that cost me less than 5 bux (or $7.25 if you want to get technical).

I know it's a lot that's not being seen, but this weekly missive is part weekly update, part To-Do List, and part Homily, so on tap for this week:
-Finish Track 4
-Write and Finish Interlude
-Start rerecording Track 5 "Let The Bombs Go Off"
-Apply/Reup my stuff with some local conventions
-Upload new drafts to Rock Band Network
-Finish one of the aforementioned videos
-Submit Audition for NewGrounds Audio Death Match
-Podcast Recap Post

A lot to take in, right? Yeah, now I got 50 less hours to work with.

Wish me luck!

What better way to celebrate it then with a HI-larious butchering of our National Anthem?

Also we can celebrate it with pictures of my concert from Mizucon!

Echo Chamber Post Game Episode 45

THANKS OBAMA, A POEM BY RHYTHM BASTARD

Thanks Obama,
I say as I stab my wife in the stomach,
killing the baby that I no longer have to care for
Abortion is legal now.

Thanks Obama,
I say as I leave her on the ground,
Because now I have to gay marry another a man.
Gay marriage is legal now.

Thanks Obama,
I say as I have sex with the first man I see,
Clutching his beautiful butt as my tongue is in his mouth.
Our love is true now.

Thanks Obama.

Yeah, we kinda got poilitcal on this one. That week was FUCKING CRAZY, AMIRITE?
Basically the GOP was all like "No items, Fox only, FINAL DESTINATION" and everyone else was like all "But I want to pick Pichu" "I want to play on Brinstar Depths" "Can't we have one item?"
Then the GOP ripped the TV off the wall and yelled "NOOOOO!!!", and everyone kinda sat around awkwardly.

BTW, here's a pic of me and my waifu Shenequa-kun again:

Echo Chamber Podcast Post Game Episode 43 and 44- E3 Edition

BEFORE THE STORM
AFTER THE STORM

DURING THE STORM- Oh. We're done with that? OK, then.

SO, here's what we talked about:

-Second Life is STILL a thing, BTW
I don't know who's using it nowadays, but it's there. You'd figure there would be something else.

-Fantasia: Music Evolved was still the biggest one for me. Now while the trailer made the game look like this:

(I CAN CONTROL BRUNO MARS WITH THE POWER OF DUBSTEP!)

-The gameplay looks incredible, and I've been looking for something to fill that Elite Beat Agents void:

-Another one we liked was "The Division"

-SWERY65 has a new game on the horizon! (But it's Xbone Exclusive D:)

I'm digging the "Walking Dead" style art and character models, since Deadly Premonition's "Like the PS2 but better's" aetschetics was a turnoff to some.

-The Hyperkin RetroN 5 looks SO HYPE. I can play 9 different kinds of retro consoles? EBAY, AHOY!

-Even though Microsoft retracted its statement on DRM, and allowed used games, I'm still on the side of "not getting one". Mostly out of trust, since all of these measures like "connect every 24 hours" or "no used games" could have been used for great things by the developers except for two reasons:
1. Games aren't going to get cheaper
2. Budgets aren't going to get cheaper
and
3. That shit is fucking hard. When you take the first two points into consideration, ANYTHING that could POSSIBLY throw the consumer off will screw you over in the end.
