Status Quo Stranger Things

Image may contain: night and text

FIRST PATREON TRACK GOES LIVE!

I'm not going to be doing a new one VERY soon, as I have Anime Iwai to worry about, so you'll have plenty of time.

NEXT week, the rest of you will be able to stream the new track. It's worth it, I promise, and I will have something special to go with it by then. Honestly, I'm just glad that so many people have shown their support so far.

Regardless, I will be playing this new song at Anime Iwai!

STRANGER THINGS?

Can you believe Season 2?

They're all dressed up like Ghostbusters! Hahaha!

ok this was just a ploy to get eyeballs on my site. Stranger Things I'm sure is great, but you know. I'd need Netflix.

OK BACK TO IMPORTANT STUFF LIKE ANIME IWAI

Since the schedule was released the other day, I'm going to clue you in to all the good panels worth attending:
Hardcore Nerdcore Punk Rock Featuring Rhythm Bastard
Saturday, November 11th
3:00 PM- 4:00 PM
Panel Room 2
MY CONCERT! Again, working on the setlist for this one is fun, since I can throw in SO MANY more new songs, and I'm working on having a new piece of merch ready by then.

3000 Brigade Presents: Mushroom High Rules!
Saturday, November 11th
Doors Open at 8:00 PM
Main Events
OR Fast Times At Mushroom High
The 3000 Brigade is the largest active cosplay performance troupe in the country! They are proud and excited to bring their next performance to anime Iwai. It is a comedy variety show with amazing costumes, wild sexy dancing, stage combat, and many of your favorite beloved characters acting very inappropriately. This year marks a decade of 3KB shows. Please come celebrate with us!

I just copied what they wrote on the Facebook Event Page, because this is already 2 days late and I want to get to Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back.

Iwaivor Series
Saturday, November 12th
3:00 PM-4:00 PM
Panel Room 2
A Tag Team Throwdown where you and a partner can pummel your way through the competition to win the Championship Belt! There will be thrills, chills, spills, and maybe one of the commenters will wear a silly costume!

I'm trying to differentiate the various Fake Wrestling Events I do. So, this one is a Tag Team Event. Again, participation MAY switch things up a bit.

What I hope to accomplish here is that:
AFO Rumble is the Royal Rumble type fight,
Mizu-Mania is a standard tournament
Iwaivor Series is a Tag based event
Holmat Slam WOULD be the Summer Slam, but it could also be the Hood Slam/ECW of games.

JAM OF THE WEEK: "Die, Die My Darling" by The Misfits

It's Halloween and I wanted a spooky song. Fun fact: First I ever heard about The Misfits was from the Musical Issue of Deadpool. It sucked and it was written by Daniel Way, which explains that.

I'm also CERTAINLY NOT working on a live cover version that uses clips of Reaper from the game Overwatch.

Status Quo Wednesday Wonders Why There's Only Sadness Here

NEW SONG INCOMING?
Yes! Well, it's a song I've only played live, and it's going to be featured on an upcoming compilation album "Nerdcore Halloween".

If you want an MP3 of the song, I'll be sending it to the mailing list, as well as some last ditch merch stuff. I'm not going to release it until I get the go ahead from IllGill, but at the very least keep your eyes peeled for the Nerdcore Halloween Compilation when it drops this Monday.

THIS WEEK'S JAM:

We talked a lot about "Flagpole Sitta" a couple podcasts ago, and I was wondering about whatever happened to Harvey Danger. Out of curiosity, I checked out the album "Where Have All The Merrymakers Gone" to see how far the rest falls behind the One Hit.

In every Todd In The Shadows "One Hit Wonderland" series he has a segment at the end where at the end he asks "Did They Deserve Better"? YES. YES THEY SHOULD HAVE. Now, after "Flagpole Sitta" it's hard to go to something LESS poppy, but at least we can look at Harvey Danger and go, "No, these guys can fucking rock".

The first track off Merrymakers "Carlotta Valdez" sounds like Dookie-era Green Day with less crunch and better production, and it has WAY more energy than "Flagpole Sitta". While Flagpole is a good song, it takes a while to get to the climax.

Compared to the Barenaked Ladies, who's "One Week" was the only song with any energy off Stunt, Where Have All The Merrymakers Gone was incredible from beginning to end.

THINGS I WANT TO GIVE MY MONEY TO RIGHT THE FUCK NOW:

I'm signal boosting this for all my True Buckaroos who believe In Love.

Echo Chamber Post Game Episode 49

DOWNLOAD THIS EPISODE BECAUSE IT IS A PERFECT SQUARE

-So, anyway, the awesome thing that resulted of two groups of friends coming together was this:

OK, so the week before we had to shoot, I was invited to a high school friend of mine, Elana's, birthday party, where she was making a movie. We haven't talked much since then, but it has been a while, and my friend David, who I worked on the Dino Hunter MD stuff with, was staying over that night.

Keep in mind, just as all of this was happening, people were dropping out of production, so he needed some actors and a makeup person. We went to her party, and made a movie. They, and a couple of the people we met still keep in touch so it didn't turn out too bad. Paul, for example, played Brady in Halloween Party and is working with David on his next project.

-Dear AnimeCow, is this the anime you were talking about? Here's something better than that:

-"A Hat In Time" is making me wish I had a better PC, because not only is it the same vein as Banjo-Kazooie, its music is done by Grant Kirkhope, who did the music for BK and Goldeneye 007.

-I was thinking about doing a series of dramatic readings of songs with fucked up lyrics and fanfictions called "Fancy Bastard"

-Here's the Anime Roommate Series on Something Awful.

-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH!!!

Echo Chamber Post Game Episode 26

Sonic is putting this link in your ears VIA HIS RECTUM

Since this episode is a little weird, um, lemme just post up the links:

1. Halloween Party! In which I roundhouse kick a zombie.

2. Frog Fractions! In which you put a warp drive on your dragon and make bug porn.

3. Burrito Bison! In which you beat the ever loving shit out of some gummi bears.

4. Visualnovelty! In which you can make your own visual novel about pooping.

5. Tails Gets Trolled! In which Sonic does not shit in Tails' mouth, but in fact particpates in a comic that's way better than Sonichu.

6. Sonichu! In which your eyes shit in your mouth which shits in your brain which shits out your butt then back into your mouth again.

That Was Halloween

Played a pretty good show despite my setup, danced like an idiot to some Beastie Boys and Foxy Shazam, and crashed on my couch at 3 in the morning wearing a Superman cape. Pretty damn good!

I had a digeriedoo as my opening act. The host was excited and got a couple people singing along to "Hell Yeah" and "Heroes Die", though the songs that went over best were impromptu acoustic renditions of "Party Rock Anthem" and "Teenagers From Mars".

OK, time for the Actual Updates!

1. DINO HUNTER M.D.: THE SOUND TRACK- Is ready for final production. Vocals have been re-recorded for a number of songs, a lot of stuff has been remixed and re-mastered, and there will be a bonus song or two added.

2. ROCK BAND NETWORK UPDATES- "Hell Yeah" is re-uploading as we speak. It's about 1/2-way done with the Peer Review phase, hopefully I can get this and "Lars Attacks!" out at the same time.

The next song  I'm putting on the RBN most of you have already heard if you listen to the Echo Chamber Podcast!

3. FUTURE CONS- Making a list, checking it twice, gonna sign up in advance cause this shit runs out quickly.

4. STATUS QUO RADIO- Once DHMD is done, that's what I'll be focusing on. There's a couple behind the scenes things I want to take care of, like an artist for the cover, and maybe a Kickstarter to pay for physical copies and whatnot.

5. File this under "Found Out About Too Late":
