Status Quo Sunday Is Moving Forward

A lot has happened since I last posted, and since there are quite a few big announcements, I figured it's time to write here for all the major things that have happened in the (YIKES) 7 months since I last posted here. 

I'm currently in Colorado for work, so it's not like I have much else to do. Which leads me to the big update:

I MOVED IN WITH MY BOYFRIEND

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I moved in with my boyfriend mid-July, and it's been going way better than I anticipated. At first, I didn't want to take the job because of the travel and it was yet another job in engineering, but one thought (and a the pay upgrade) rose above all else: 

"If not now, then when?"

I could wait for the perfect job and the perfect time, but then that would be another while to come, and the important step was that I was with Jeff. It's been working out great so far, and while I have a lot less free time, since I have a work commute and no longer live with my parents, there's a satisfaction I get from having actual control over my life! And the fact that I have a loving partner who wants to support all the crazy bullshit I do and in turn give him support and fill his house with love? That's what this is all about, baby!

As mentioned earlier, I'm in Colorado for work, doing geotech work AGAIN, and at the time of writing this, I have a week left. But, right after that is... 

MEGAPLEX! WHERE I'LL HAVE NOTHING! 

 

No show, no Pencils Down, no Dealer's Den, but it'll be a PURE vacation con after the gauntlet of being away from my boyfriend and walkable cities. Is your "unc" "washed"? No. Disappointed, especially after FWA also not giving me a show? Yes, but other things took priority (see above) and I'm still working on being Rhythm Bastard (though I have considered rebranding to Thrash Panda...) All the things I'm doing, writing music, streaming, art, etc. still bring me pleasure, it's just a tad deflating. 

We were working on a special "bonus" card that comes with every purchase, and do it at future cons since the Secret Lair does so well, but without a Dealer's Den, that will have to roll over until the next time travel themed con, which is coincidentally is Midwest FurFest, where HOPEFULLY I'll have a show because...

ALBUM #5: "I KNOW WHAT I'M DOING"

 

12 tracks, I sent it off to a producer and rerecorded a bunch of stuff. I have an artist in mind, but after Megaplex more things should coalesce. 

 

Why did I call it that? 

1. I'm more confident in my songwriting and more intentional with my production- LITERALLY, I know what I'm doing.

2. All the big strides I've made since HCNCPR- Why release an album when most of my stuff is on Patreon and I play stuff live anyway? It's a step up, a landmark.

3. Can be taken as a confident step forward- I moved in with MY BOYFRIEND, and well, I already told you all that. 

4. Covers my ass when I solicit the cover- Thrash on the cover being his sexy self? "Oh he knows what he's doing"

I'm also working on three tracks to put into YARG/Rock Band 3/Clone Hero/etc:
"R-H-Y-T-H-M"

"Hop On"

"The Rat Hole"

 

Not a whole lot I missed since doing Rock Band Network 15+ years ago, but I'll check if there's a community where they peer review tracks.
