Still in catch up mode after redoing alot of my computer shit, so I'm putting up the two Echo Chamber recaps I did last weekend:

ECHO CHAMBER EPISODE 167

-What comes into my brain anytime I hear "Dental Plan"

-Google Cardboard
This looks like something Nerdist or whatever would put as "DIY VR Headset" or something and then google sold it to you for $20.

-Beavis and Butthead changed a shiiiiitton in their reboot. While it was nice to see them riff on the numerous reality shows MTV had at the time, it didn't lend itself well to the idea of two idiot teenagers riffing on whatever's on TV. Part of the comedy is that they were confused about what's going on, and it came from a point of ignorance.

When they came back it was like 20 years have passed for them. They don't sound as into it, they're acting like the've got kids of their own, and they're looking down on the videos not in a teenage "This sucks/this rules" kind of immature binary, but in a "Tsk Tsk, KIDS THESE DAYS"

Though I did like the riff they did for "Firework", even if they did sound a lot more listless.

"You're not a firework" "SHUT UP BUTTHEAD I AM A FIREWORK"

-Music videos in the internet age obviously have a lot less money put behind them, but on the other hand, a lot of consumer grade equipment is really good and relatively affordable. Also, internet culture has the benefit of being a lot more accepting of "weird shit" and weird concepts that might be a bridge too far for TV nowadays. Even an indie band can put something decent together on a low budget, as evidenced with OK GO. With them, it's less, "How can we put this on MTV, which is the TV equivalent of the radio", but "How can we get people to watch this?"

-Lonley The Brave "Victory Line". I don't want to watch it again to talk about it gives me so much feels.

-Jim (Fucking) Sterling (Son's) content id block gambit explained:

And now, to leave you with an insprirational quote from DASHAREZ0NE

ECHO CHAMBER EPISODE 168-Paolo's not that far off the mark for a lot of people. As much as we try to eat healthy, we're curious. Like the desire to not miss out on Mom making brownies far outweighs the desire to eat healthy. Like why advertisers and the like try to phrase things in a way that are brains think "HOLY SHIT I GOTTA MITIGATE RISK" vs. "HOLY SHIT I WANT THAT"

-I'm surprised we didn't bring up the pinnacle of gluttony: Brasilian Grills. It's essentially an All You Can Eat place, but instead of going up and getting the food, they bring you a shitton of meat so long as you have this token thing flipped up to the green side.

-I didn't think the "Rib Cage Of A Virgin" thing very far. Like, that virgin's ribcage has to be stripped clean or else their body meats will interfere with the BBQ meats. And if it's bleached then that's a safety hazard.

Echo Chamber Post Game 80

LAWSUIT TORPEDOES OFF THE STARBOARD BOW!

In which it seems to me that I'm the Vinny Carravella of this podcast.

-Celebrity Deathmatch was the Attitude Era in a nutshell: Insane, violent and featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin. No, seriously, Steve Austin was a minor character.

Anyway, would this go down as well today? Well, not really. For one, all of our bloodlust is directed toward real people. Seriously, watch any politician on the Right and how they speak toward anyone who's not a rich white guy.

Second, back then, we didn't have the internet as a reassurance that "Yes, those celebrities DO suck", so we had to rely on MTV to be a outlet for indignace. Now we can Justin Bieber or Katy Perry faglords and douchebutts for that thrill.

Third, Claymation just wouldn't be economically feasible in the world of CG and Flash animation. Flash animation, that gets put on NewGrounds, which is also where you get your CELEBRITY DEATH GAME!!1! fix.

-Aeon Flux, from what I remember, had a really interesting universe, but most of the plot felt like navel gazing. The fact that Aeon Flux, secret agent, and SpaceFuture Vladmir Putin Trevor Goodchild were somewhat of an item added an interesting dynamic, but as far as the

I really like the little bits of everyday life in the city where the story takes place, like the one episode where Aeon manages to ferry one half of a couple into a neighboring town, leaving the the wife sestranged and having a piece of here spine removed. It doesn't affect too badly, but the sci-fi shenanigans are what really drew me in.

The little shorts where Aeon dies in the end were brilliant, because you get all of these little peeks into something greater, and I wanted to know more about that world, like "What is all this shit? How does it work?" and that 5 minutes is enough for a breif primer to set up the rules, give you an idea of the "mission", then have that brief moment where SHE MIGHT PULL IT OFF then WHAM. Death.

-Ask a Network Head Video, a.k.a. A Gut Check

-Nostalgia Chick's Top 10 90's Music Videos:

-Shazam does have some sort algorihtm to it, but I'd like to think it was voodoo all along. How it works is that it recognizes moments of intensity, generating up to three reference points per second for each song, then compares that along a database of 8 million songs.

In fact, there's even a scientific paper of how it all works.

-And to finish, CRAZY BUS!!!

Oh... Oh Xenagos, no...

I meant THIS!!

Wait... No... NOOOOOOOOOO-

See you next week!

Deadly Premonition, my 2010 Game Of The Year

It took a while, but I finally managed to finish it! The original song already got some coverage before, but now I made a music video of it, and maybe it'll get another go around.

Obviously, that's what most of my efforts had gone to the past week, and next week is getting everything ready for Anime Festival Orlando, namely practicing, making travel arrangements, and getting stuff to sell.

Speaking of Anime Festival Orlando, my times for my shows have officially been announced!
I'm playing Friday Night at 10:30 PM, and Saturday Afternoon at 2:00 PM!
I'll have posters and download cards for sale for $5.
