The Skrill-est

UPDATE: MC Lars posted it up, AND it made RockBandAide.com's RBN Highlights!

WOOOOOOOO!!!

ALSO "STEVEN WELLS (HE WAS THE GREATEST)" FOR ONLY A DOLLAR!!!

MC Lars introduced me to a new term the other day: "Skrill", meaning money. My first thought was "that's probably where Skrillex got his name".

My second thought was "Oh yeah, 'This Gigantic Robot Kills' is skrill indeed!" I'm from the East Coast, so I've never heard that before, ergo I don't know how it's used. Also why I had a version of "TGRK" rejected because I didn't know a Wherehouse was an old record store chain and needed to be capitalized.

So, you may have seen the song , but HAVE YOU SEEN THE ALLOCADES?

Most recently, it's in the RBN Highlights. I'm 2 for 2!

Then, it got the highest honor a Rock Band song can get: a Full Band Full Combo video! That's an FBFC w/ GS! LMFAO!

Suburban Legends retweeted it!

AND IT CAME OUT AT THE PERFECT TIME!
The Aquabats Super Show coming this Saturday!

Suburban Legends with a new album!

AND I HAVE A GIG AT THE VAULT THIS SATURDAY!!!
SATURDAY!!

Cheap Trick Makes Video Games Good

My Dad picked up the Top Gun soundtrack at the library the other day, and "Mighty Wings" by Cheap Trick came on:

And. if you're into games at all, chances are you've thinking "Wait..."

It's "Ken's Theme" from Street Fighter 2:

Then, thanks to this website, I found the similarities between their song "Way Of The World"

and Elec Man (MM1) Theme:

Todd In The Shadows Best Songs Of 2011

In which I get more hits from people looking for Todd In The Shadow's personal blog, which by this point I'm sure he came up with troll people and doesn't exist. Still, it's that time of year where I look back and see the ways in which Top 40 Radio managed to not fuck it up.

A lot of these songs have made their rotation (save for Katy Perry and "Someone Like You") on my workout mix, and yeah, it has been a good year. Then again, this has been my first full year without having to put up with my college gym which blasted the Top 40 station every time I tried to squat 3 plates, and it's hard to keep focus when you're brain's going "'Poker Face' again"?

February 1st, 2012 Videos Of The Week

Hey, remember this?

LIVE VIDEO OF THE WEEK: The Aquabats on G4's Attack Of The Show: "Fashion Zombies" and "Nerd Alert"

A performance from around the time of Charge!!'s release, which probably my favorite Aquabats album.

MUSIC VIDEO OF THE WEEK: "Calling All Destroyers" by Tsar

Saw the movie "Super" this past weekend. Half In The Bag recommended it, Current Releases panned it, but a friend had a copy, so I figured, why not?

It's not going to be to the liking of many, since it's brutal, funny, and depressing all at the same time. Rainn Wilson is great in this, and it was nice to see Ellen Page play a tremendous psychopath. If you can handle something a little off the beaten path, check it out.
